KAA Gent conceded an early goal against KV Kortrijk, but Yaremchuk managed to level quickly. Still within the first half hour of the game, Yaremchuk then also gave Kubo an assist, causing the Buffaloes to take the lead. As the more balanced second half saw no goals, Gent booked their 6th win in a row.
The contract of Tess Tekie, the Swedish-Eritrean midfielder, was extended with one extra year (until 2021). Because he needs more match rhythm he will be loaned out (without an option to purchase) to the Swedish side Östersunds FK fror 18 months starting from the 1st of January.
KAA Gent made its way in the top 6 of the ranking thanks to a 0-1 win away at SV Zulte Waregem. A half hour in the game, Sylla's effort and assist lead to theopening goal, scored by Simon. After the break, the Buffaloes didn't manage to score, but neither did the home team. This 6th win in 8 games brought Gent to the fifth place in the ranking.
The heavy rain caused the game against Mouscron to start a little slow, until Simon's penalty goal opened the score. Mouscron's Awoniyi quickly leveled the score, but before the break Kubo put gent in the lead again showing some amazing dribbling skills. All throughout second half, the Buffaloes managed to protect the lead, finishing off with a goal by Bronn at the end, making the game end in a 3-1 score. With this third win in a row, Gent again moves a little closer to the top 6 teams in the ranking.
Away at KSC Lokeren, the Buffaloes claimed a comfortable win. In this "derby of East Flanders", KAA Gent took the lead in the first half through a beautiful bicycle kick from Brecht Dejaegere. In the second half, the home team saw Mpati get sent off the field following a red card. Gent then tripled the lead through goals from Kalu and Gigot. This well-deserved win brings the Buffaloes to a ninth place in the ranking, only 3 points away from a ticket for Play-Off 1
On the 14th matchday of the Jupiler Pro League, KAA Gent was able to win again, against R Standard de Liège. The first half saw no goals, but out of the many chances in the second half, Yaremchuk was able to score a header. The goalkeepers on either side, Kalinic and Ochoa, prevented any further goals, causing the Buffaloes to take the 3 points home. .
KAA Gent started the game against Charleroi strongly, but wasn't awarded a penalty for a faul on Kubo, not even after the video referee asked referee Delferiere to review the video. Slowly, the home team took over the game, which eventually resulted in them taking the lead right before the break through a goal by Benavente. After the break, Benavente doubled the lead, but soon after, KuboM tightened the lead again with a stunning goal. The buffaloes increased the pressure looking for the equaliser and got some big changes but didn't manage to score. Once again, Gent wasn't awarded a penalty for a clear handball, causing the game to end in a sore 2-1 loss.
Yves Vanderhaeghe has announced his team selection for the away game against R Charleroi SC of Friday evening. The selection contains 22 names, three of them will not make it into the final selection.
KAA Gent secured the second home win in a row against KAS Eupen. With an assist from Kalu, Kubo put Gent in the lead as early as in the 3th minute. Close to the break, two penalties in two minutes' time defined the final direction of the game, as Simon scored them both. After the break, Gent had some chances to further extend the lead, but Eupen's goalkeeper Van Crombugge prevented them from doing so, making the final score 3-0.
Away at KV Kortrijk, KAA Gent had by far the most ball possession, but the home team's defense didn't budge. After the break, Simon did break through the defense and put Gent in the lead. As a reaction, however, the home team then put some pressure on the Buffaloes and scored the equaliser. Gent had a couple of chances to score the winning goal, but never managed to. Thus, they left with one point, which could have been 3.
KAA Gent got off to a flying start under new coach Yves Vanderhaege. Gent dominated the game against Waasland-Beveren, but didn't manage to score before the break. In the second half, however, subsitute Samuel Kalu did score twice. He first scored through a rebound after the ball hit the post and five minutes before the end he secured the win by heading a sharp free kick from Simon in the goal.

KAA Gent played an excellent first half away at Brugge, the leader in the ranking. However, it was the home team that took the lead through a header from Dennis. Kubo then made the well-earned equaliser. Gent kept putting pressure in the second half, but a deviated shot from Cools put Brugge in the lead again (2-1), causing Gent to go home without any points.
The game against Zulte Waregem took a false start when a misunderstanding in the Ghent defense led to the opening goal from Saponjic. As a consequence the visitors only focused on defending the advantage and Ghent was not able to turn things around in the rest of the game.
Away at KV Oostende, KAA Gent picked its first win of the season. Kubo put Gent in the lead with one of the rare chances in the first half. Oostende turned up the pressure in the second half, but it was Gent's substitute Louis Verstraete who scored the 0-2 in the 91st minute and secured the three points for the Buffaloes.
