After the break, Gent had some chances to further extend the lead, but Eupen's goalkeeper Van Crombugge prevented them from doing so, making the final score 3-0.

In a thrilling but goalless match KAA gent and Anderlecht kept each other in balance and shared the points. KAA Gent dominated the first half but Anderlecht goalie Matz Sels (on loan from Newcastle United and ex KAA Gent) was the hero with some superb saves. After the break, the balance between both teams was restored and Gent's keeper Thoelen had to be alert, having to show his skills on three particular occasions. But like Sels, Thoelen kept his clean sheet, causing the match to end in a 0-0 draw.
It looked like KAA Gent were on their way to the first win of the season after stunning goals by Dejaegere and Sylla. But just before halftime our defender Gigot was shown a red card after what seemed to be a correct tackle. After the break the match changed: Mohamed with a lob and Govea with a deviated shot equalized. In the final minutes Bolingi scored in the rebound after our goalkeeper, Kalinic, first stopped his penalty kick. No first win but a sour defeat.
