Extra safety regulations remain in force in 2017

The extra safety measurements that were put in place following the several terrorist attacks throughout Europe will remain in force in 2016. . OCAD, Belgium's Coordinating Unit for Threat Analysis, decided to keep the national threat level at 3, which means that there is a serious threat and that it is likely that an attack will be carried out. It is known that crowded public places are preferred targets. Therefore, sport events should be considered a possible target. This is why we've been advised to continue to apply the safety regulations that were in force until December 2015. What this means exactly, will now be explained.

Please arrive earlier than you would in normal circumstances.

  • It is prohibited to bring bags or backpacks to the game. Supporters that to bring one, will be denied access to the stadium. Moreover, there are no lockers in the stadium to store any bags.

  • There will be extra security checks at the entrance. Body searches will be more elaborate which may results in longer queues at the stadium entrances.

  • To conclude, we would like to draw attention to one particular matter: apart from it being prohibited, it is IN NO WAY A GOOD IDEA to bring pyrotechnic materials and ignite them in the stadium's vicinity before, after and during the game.  Our security teams will be busy ensuring your safety and should never lose time by having to concentrate on incidents with pyrotechnic materials
  • Arriving on time = Being inside the stadium on time

Thank you for your understanding
