The 11th EFDN Congress was a huge success. Approx. 150 delegates from all over Europe met in Ghent for the 11th EFDN Conference “CSR in Football”.
On Tuesday and Wednesday the 13th and the 14th of November 140 representatives of more than 80 European clubs and their foundations, national leagues and football associations will gather in Gent for a congress about CSR & Community in European football.
The KAA Gent Foundation presents some remarkable numbers about the athletic and social cooperation between the 15 football clubs in Gent. Three years of Elk Talent Telt (Every Talent Counts) provided more opportunities for young football players, more education for trainers and board members and a healthier football environment.

KAA Gent and the local football clubs in Gent participating in the Elk Talent Telt partnership join forces and unite against hate.
KAA Gent will offer more seats for wheelchairs, starting with the Play Offs 2018. Specifically, there will be 6 designated seats in block RS 232 (tier 2) 6 designated seats in block RS 438 (tier 4). The seats are located indoor at the third floor. The amount of designated seats for people in wheelchairs is increased from 30 to 42.
The Belgian Pro league awarded KAA Gent with the title Pro League+ Gold for best football in the community organization in Belgium. It’s the second time in only four years that the KAA Gent Foundation receives this prestigious award.
Before the saturday game volunteers of the KAA Gent Foundation placed temporary tattoos which state "expel poverty" ('sluit armoede uit' in Dutch). This way the KAA Gent foundation demands attention for 1 in every 5 inhabitants of Gent, who live in poverty and have to postpone medical care for financial reasons.
The connecting force of KAA Gent. This is how the KAA Gent Foundation describes itself in its new policy plan. KAA Gent wants to continue to invest KAA Gent in social activities in the years to come. With 32 projects and a yearly budget of more than € 500.000 euro KAA Gent further develops its social engagements.

Last saturday the Nieuw Gent-Steenakker neighborhood fair took place in the Ghelamco Arena. Last thursday hundreds of kids from the neighborhood ended the school year with a fun day of playing in the football stadium.
Today the first joint community activity of the Buffalo Cup 2017 was organized. Children of 4 participating schools organized a clean up action for the litter in the Nieuw Gent-Steenakker neighbourhood.
From 30.3 untill 9.4.2017 the #MoreThanFootball Action Week raises awareness for the social role of football and the impact of the investment of professional football clubs in community & social responsibility activities. KAA Gent joins the action week with KAA Gent Football in the community.
The Ghelamco Arena is a football stadium, accessible for everyone. Visiting fans with a disability also appreciate the efforts KAA Gent has made to turn the Ghelamco Arena into a place where everyone is welcome.
Voetbal in de stad steps up a gear. In the Nieuw Gent neighbourhood our communitydepartment will soon open a new community house. ‘Bij Pino’ will be an accessible meeting place at the Rerum Novarumplein containing a coffee bar, a workshop and a share store.
10 years: that's how long the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities has existed. Therefore, Unia (Interfederal Centre for Equal Opportunities) is launching a campaign by and for persons with disabilities. The message? Defend your rights.
