KAA Gent and Club Brugge share the spoils

The top game of Matchday 20 between KAA Gent and league leaders Club Brugge ended in a 1-1 draw. Mignolet was the busier of the two keepers in an intense first half, but the Buffalos could not find the back of the net. Then, after half time, it was the visitors who went ahead through a header from Dennis—their first effort on target. Gent fought back and got a deserved equalizer through Odjidja, and almost won it when Kums' volley struck the bar. But there were to be no more goals, so the game ended all square.

KAA Gent suffer undeserved loss away at KV Oostende

The Buffalos dominated the first half hour of the game away at KV Oostende, and Depoitre put them into a deserved lead. Out of nowhere, Oostende got back on level terms through Hjulsager. After the break, Vargas headed the home side in front. The Buffalos then searched hard for an equaliser, and made plenty of opportunities, but were foiled by a combination of poor finishing and good goalkeeping from Ondoa. So the game ended 2-1, leaving Gent ruing their missed chances to pick up at least a point.

KAA Gent enjoy comfortable 2-0 win over Zulte Waregem

The Buffalos got off to a flyer against SV Zulte Waregem, with Bezus scoring a screamer with just two minutes gone. Gent then continued to cut through the opposition's defence, and Yaremchuk hit the back of the net twice, but both goals were ruled out for offside. For Yaremchuk it proved to be third time lucky, as his goal from Odjidja's assist did stand. Larin thought he had pulled one back for the visitors, but this was also adjudged offside. There were more chances after the break, with substitute Mbayo hitting the post, but no goals. So Gent celebrate yet another home triumph, and remain in the top three.

On Matchday 5 of the UEFA Europa League, the Buffalos put in a solid performance away at Saint-Etienne. In the first half, Ngadeu missed the goal by a whisker, before Bouanga struck the bar for the Frenchmen. KAA Gent defeated 3-2 by strong Antwerp side

At the Bosuil, Yaremchuk opened the scoring after a smart counter-attack, but Mbokani equalised soon afterwards. Then Antwerp won a contested penalty, which Refaelov duly converted. BUFFALOS BEAT WOLFSBURG TO TOP GROUP I

What a fantastic result! The Buffalos beat VfL Wolfsburg 3-1 away from home and now head Group I. Yet in the first half, things did not look promising. Wolfsburg had the lion's share of possession, created chances, and took the lead after 19 minutes through a blistering strike from Victor. The second half was a different story, however. Gent applied pressure, showed courage and played themselves back into the game. The equaliser came after 50 minutes from Roman Yaremchuk, who brought down a high ball and thumped it into the net. 15 minutes later, fellow striker 'Lolo' Depoitre got in on the act, scoring from Vadis' corner. Then, with 76 minutes on the clock, Ngadeu scored with a backwards header to make it 3-1. After the cup triumph at Aalst, this was our first important away win, and what an excellent win it was—a night to remember!

KAA Gent emerge victorious in entertaining game against Standard

In an eventful game at the Ghelamco Arena, the Buffalos beat Standard 3-1. Amallah put the visitors ahead just before half time, but when the teams came out for the second half, Gent got back in it, with Bezus equalising with a beauty from the edge of the box. Things started to look more difficult for the Buffalos when Odjidja got a second yellow for an alleged push on Mpoku. But the home side kept attacking, and earned a free kick. Kums' effort struck the arm of Vanheusden in the wall, earning him a red card, and David made no mistake from the resultant spot kick. A few minutes later, Castro-Montes added another with a cracking strike. So the final score was 3-1, and a well-earned triumph for Gent at Fort Ghelamco!

Fans at Lotto Park were treated to a six-goal thriller as Anderlecht played host to Gent. Verschaeren put the home side ahead, before Depoitre levelled the score just before the break. Two second-half goals from Roofe seemed to have secured victory for the men from Brussels. But then, with ten minutes to go, Yaremchuk pulled one back for the Buffalos. Gent kept attacking in the closing stages, and were rewarded in the 94th minute, when Plastun headed across the keeper into the far corner to equalise.

KAA Gent held to draw away at STVV

There were few chances in a dull first half at Stayen, but chances aplenty after half time. Most of these fell to Gent, but they were foiled by good goalkeeping from Schmidt and their own lack of sharpness in front of goal. In the closing minutes Boli and De Bruyn came close for the Kanaries, but could not beat Kaminski. So the game finished 0-0, which was somewhat incredible given the amount of opportunities in the second half.
