Important home victory against Konyaspor in Europa League

KAA Gent ensured a 2-0 victory against the Turkish team Konyaspor on the second matchday of the Europa League. Kenny Saief scored the first goal and Renato Neto doubled the lead before half-time with a strong header.  The second half was more well-balanced, but Gent's victory was never in danger. Gent moves on to 4 points after the first two matches.

HT Gantoise Legends play Walking Football

On Thursday September 22, the community organisation of KAA Gent, named ‘Voetbal in de Stad’, organised a seminar on European Legends, a Walking Football project of EFDN. In the afternoon the HT Gantoise Legends, the Walking Football team of KAA Gent, played its first competition.

Matz Sels to Newcastle United

Today Matz Sels signed a 5 year contract at Newcastle United. Matz leaves KAA Gent after three seasons with a Belgian Championship title and the Belgian Supercup under his belt. As a Buffalo he also made his debut in the national team and he was one of the key players during our amazing Champions League campaign in 2015-2016.  Finally he was elected Best Goalkeeper of Belgium in two separate elections, one of them being awarded by his colleagues.

Extra safety regulations remain in force in 2019 and 2020.

The extra safety measurements that were put in place following the several terrorist attacks throughout Europe will remain in force in 2019 and 2020. OCAD, Belgium's Coordinating Unit for Threat Analysis, decided to lower the national threat level to level 2, which means that the risk of a new terrorist act in our country is not non-existent. It is known that crowded public places are preferred targets. Therefore, sport events should be considered a possible target. This is why we've been advised to continue to apply some safety regulations. What this means exactly, will now be explained.
