KAA Gent beaten by super efficient Shakhtar

On matchday three of the UEFA Europa League KAA Gent suffered a 5-0 defeat away at Shakhtar Donetsk. Kovalenko gave the home team a quick lead with a lob and even though both teams were equally strong and had many chances, Ferreyra managed to score 2-0 before the break. Bernard and Taison extended the lead in the second half, while Gent kept missing their chances. Finally Malyshev put the 5-0 on the scoreboard. Gent does remain in second place in group H as the match between Konyaspor and Braga ended in a 1-1 draw.

Photo Special: trip to Lviv

Our players arrived safe and sound in Lviv, Ukraine for the Europa League match against Shakhtar Donetsk. Our European successes made an impression in Ukraine, as many fans were waiting at the airport hoping to get autographs and take pictures with our players and staff. After coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck’s, a last training is scheduled in Lviv’s stadium

KAA Gent launches English webiste

  After our succesful Champions League campaign and the current Europa League campaign, we strive to always compete in European football. Therefore, we completely renewed our website, making it clearer and easier to use for our fans. As of now, our website is available in English for our European fans and a French version will follow soon.

KAA Gent in fourth place after comfortable 3-0 win against Zulte-Waregem

KAA Gent climbed to the fourth place in the ranking after a strong 3-0 victory against leader Zulte-Waregem.  The gripping first half saw no goals, but the second half saw many chances. Coulibaly scored with the head, but the game remained exciting and undecided after Hamalainen hit the post and Saief missed the penalty. Substitute Hannes Van Der Bruggen gave the assist for Moses Simon’s 2-0 and scored the final 3-0 with a hard kick from outside the penalty area.

Important home victory against Konyaspor in Europa League

KAA Gent ensured a 2-0 victory against the Turkish team Konyaspor on the second matchday of the Europa League. Kenny Saief scored the first goal and Renato Neto doubled the lead before half-time with a strong header.  The second half was more well-balanced, but Gent's victory was never in danger. Gent moves on to 4 points after the first two matches.

Hein Vanhaezebrouck announced his selection for the Europa League match against Konyaspor on Thursday. The selection consists of 20 names, two of which will not make the final selection.

Extra safety regulations remain in force in 2019 and 2020.

The extra safety measurements that were put in place following the several terrorist attacks throughout Europe will remain in force in 2019 and 2020. OCAD, Belgium's Coordinating Unit for Threat Analysis, decided to lower the national threat level to level 2, which means that the risk of a new terrorist act in our country is not non-existent. It is known that crowded public places are preferred targets. Therefore, sport events should be considered a possible target. This is why we've been advised to continue to apply some safety regulations. What this means exactly, will now be explained.
