In the Second Qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League, KAA Ghent convincingly won its first match against the Romanian side FC Viitorul Constanta, 6 goals to 3. Despite the incredible heat, the Buffalos were on fire right from the start and scored through Asare and Dejaegere goals in the opening quarter of an hour. And yet even after Mladen’s excellent goal in reply, Ghent continued the onslaught as before half time, Kubo scored twice and Yaremchuk converted a penalty kick. Shortly after the break, Yaremchuk extended the lead still further to 6-1. Tiru then scored twice for Viitorul, making the final result a remarkable 6-3. Ghent therefore gets to go to Romania with a nice little advance for the return match.
